1935
In 1935, twenty-eight members each put up a $500 bond to finance the construction of a swimming pool. The pool was built and the members gave the bonds back to the Club. The Riverside pool, which was replaced in 1986, provided members and their children complete swimming activities for over a half century. It was at this time that the Riverside Swimming pool Association was established as well as it's membership to the Suburban Country League.
Over the years many fine athletes have come out of the program at Riverside including 1964 Olympic diving Gold Medal Springboard Title champion Ken Sitzberger the youngest male in history to win that event.
