In 1990 Riverside Golf Club purchased an additional 25 acres from the Forest Preserve District of Cook County to expand the course and contracted Dick Nugent of Nugent Associates to design four holes for the new land as well as improvements to and redesigning the existing course. The estimated cost of the expansion project was 3.7 million and the full redesign was completed in 1992.
